Japońska kompozytorka i artystka dźwiękowa Reiko Yamada oraz trębacz i improwizator Artur Majewski, wykorzystując przestrzeń zielonogórskiego BWA eksperymentują używając analogowych instrumentów w uprzestrzennionym cyfrowym środowisku dźwiękowym, żeby badać granice pomiędzy dźwiękiem i ciszą, szczytowym poziomem głośności i przesterem, szumem i konkretną wysokością dźwięku, punktem idealnym i wszystkim co poza nim, naturalną akustyką i sztucznym pogłosem, twórcami i odbiorcami, procesem i efektem końcowym, działaniem w czasie rzeczywistym i tym co już się wydarzyło. Projekt odbywa się dzięki wsparciu Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego.
Reiko Yamada jest kompozytorką i artystką dźwiękową pochodzącą z Hiroszimy w Japonii. Komponuje dzieła koncertowe, tworzy instalacje sound-artowe i działa interdyscyplinarnie z międzynarodowymi artystami. W swojej pracy eksploruje estetyczną koncepcję niedoskonałości osadzoną w różnych kontekstach.
Yamada jest absolwentką Berklee College of Music i Uniwersytetu Bostońskiego oraz posiada doktorat z kompozycji uzyskany na Uniwersytecie McGill'a w Montrealu. Jest wielokrotną laureatką nagród i stypendystką, m.in. w Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study na Uniwersytecie Harvarda (2015-16), rezydentką w IEM (Institut für Elektronische Musik und Akustik)(2016-17), Innovator-in-Residence w Colorado College (2018), była rezydującą artystką/kompozytorką w Phonos Foundation w ramach programu S+T+ARTS (2020-21). Tworzyła na zamówienie m.in. New Music USA, the Canada Council for the Arts, IRCAM (the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music), CIRMMT (the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology), the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, Armitage Gone! Dance, the Zentrum für Orgelforschung der Kunstuniversität Graz oraz Komisji Europejskiej. Jej prace były prezentowane w takich miejscach jak The Metropolitan Museum Breuer w Nowym Jorku czy na festiwalu Sónar w Barcelonie.
Obecnie jest badaczką w ICFO (Institute for Photonic Sciences) i profesorką wizytującą w ESMUC w Barcelonie.

Japanese composer and sound artist Reiko Yamada with Polish cornetist and improviser Artur Majewski experiment with analog instruments in the spatialized digital space in order to explore the edges in between audibility and inaudibility, delay and reverb, peak and distortion, noise and non-noise, sweet spot and elsewhere, natural acoustics and artificial reverb, performers and listeners, process and result, passing now and past. Project supported by University of Zielona Góra.
Reiko Yamada is a composer and sound artist, originally from Hiroshima, Japan. She composes concert works, creates sound art installations, and works with interdisciplinary collaborators. Her work explores the aesthetic concept of imperfection in a variety of contexts.
Yamada holds a D.Mus in composition from McGill University and is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards and fellowships. She was a 2015-16 Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study of Harvard University, the 2016-17 artist-in-residence at IEM (Institut für Elektronische Musik und Akustik), the 2018 Innovator-in-Residence at Colorado College, 2020-21 S+T+ARTS resident artist, and composer-in-residency at Phonos Foundation. Her various projects have been commissioned and/or funded by New Music USA, the Canada Council for the Arts, IRCAM (the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music), CIRMMT (the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology), the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, Armitage Gone! Dance, the Zentrum für Orgelforschung der Kunstuniversität Graz, and the European Commission among others. Her works have been presented in venues such as The Metropolitan Museum Breuer (New York), and Sónar Festival (Barcelona). She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at ICFO (Institute for Photonic Sciences) and a visiting professor at ESMUC in Barcelona.
